catalina 36 salvage

hi everyone, as much as it pains me to even mention catalina 36 and salvage in the same sentence i have a WANT that compells me to

ask. i am looking for the 5 louvered doors that catalina started useing in the

main cabin around 1986/87. if anyone knows/hears of a catalina 36 being

parted out i would be greatful for a heads up. i called about the post on this

site last week but was a day late. thanks for the help.

Saw them at Minney's last week in Newport Beach, CA. Boat washed up on the beach a couple of weeks ago, operator fell asleep under the influence.

Jim,
you might want to be careful on buying doors from another boat, I had some made and each and everyone was a different size. During the time your, and my boats, were constructed i don't know that they necessarily made anything standard, close but not standard. I know that when i replaced my windows the hole sizes from the port windows and starboard windows were different. just a note of caution. maybe all will work well if you can find them.
good luck!

hi mark, thats the one i called on. the salvage company refered me to them

but the guys at minney's wouldnt return my calls. and mike thank you for

the warning. i did notice when i was measuring mine that no two doors are

the same. still i would like the opportunity to acquire some. i hate the flat

panel doors i have.

Jim,

I spoke with them yesterday on the phone looking for something else, remember they are in CA. I'll check and see if the guy still has anything posted on craigslist and let you know.
