Boom Vang Winter Project

Just as a something to do I am building a Rigid Boom Vang. I have some Aluminium pipe that slides together and have purchased springs from Garhauer. I already have the other parts and some solid aluminum stock.

I am looking for some measurements of the main pieces of a rigid vang and distances from the mast to the point on the boom.

Any photos and measurements would be of help. I know I can purchase one but I teach skilled trades and will be in a machine shop second semester, this will be used as a demo project with the students.

Since you have already contacted Garhauer for your springs, have you considered asking them for their rigid vang instructions?

I have found their instructions on installing. Not very specific in parts measurments. I am looking for measurements used on the C36 MKI. I do not want to pester Mark too much.;) on how they do it.
