ANTI-SIPHON Valves in Head cabinet

Subject: ANTI-SIPHON Valves in Head cabinet
Message:
There are 2 Anti-Siphon Vents in the Head main cabinet.
One is for the raw water intake for the Head.
Can anyone tell me what the 2nd is for?

PS .. the manual I have does not show a 2nd one.

Hi Bruce,

The second is likely for the shower sump discharge if it has ½" or ¾" hose on it.

I don't know details of the anti-siphon, but I can tell you that in my 2004 model the seacock of the head is shared by both the sink and by an anchor washdown pump.  The shower sump has it's own seacock with nothing else on it.

On my 2004, two sea cocks and three services.  Head intake, sink drain, and shower drain.  The head intake and the shower drain have vented loops because the hoses provide a circuit where both ends of the circuit are at or below the water line.  That's the general rule of using a vented loops.

Technically, I would have liked Catalina to eliminate one of those sea cocks by overboarding the shower drain via a simple thru-hull far above the water line (like the sump pump does).
