Alternator and Battery Cables - fuses?

Are there no fuses in the OEM battery cables, or am I missing something?

I've got a 2006 C36 with the OEM alternator. In the past I have not been too interested in alternator upgrades since they seemed offer a relatively small reduction in battery charge time, but recently I found ElectroMaax offering a kit that has a 120A alternator combined with pulley changes to switch over to a wide flat polyV belt that can deliver the required torque w/o a problem. They think I'll be charging at about 80 amps at engine idle. That's about 3x the OEM charge rate. I've got all AGM so no problem with the rate on the battery end.

Looking at installing, it seems Catalina was generous with 1 AWG wires, but I cannot find fuses. The ElectroMaax documentation recommends inline fuses at 175 A. Seems like a good idea, but did Catalina really build with the massive cables between batteries and engine block and no over current protection?
