This is Glory Daze first monohull to finish. It was a 14 mile coastal race that consisted of 12 miles downwind and 2 back up. We corrected out to second place, the boat just behind us was first.

Glory, you gotta tell me what kind of boat that A-kite came off of. I need one!

I use a 16 foot pole and had that kite built to fit the pole,it's 1100 sq ft and was built by Super Sailmakers in Ft Lauderdale

How hard does PHRF hit you for the oversize pole and kite?

PHRFSEF gives a 6 second penalty for the oversized pole and kite, but I also get a 4 second credit for using a 140 headsail instead of a 155. This works out well for the coastal distance races that I have the boat set up for. The 140 works well in anything over 12 knots true and being in south Florida where the wind is out of the east or some variation of east most of the time, the A-kite is a powerfull sail to race up and down the coast with.
