Introduction

Hello everyone,
I race in south Florida out of Hillsboro Inlet. Just got my phrf cert with a base rating of 135, +3 sec cruising credit, -6 for oversized pole and spin for a 132 rating. Already appealed the base rating, I am asking for + 6 on the base for and end rating of 138.
Just wanted to say hello and I will try and give updates on our racing this year. Our first race is March 13rd when we will be using our newly updated Harken traveller.

That one is an A3 asymetric from North that is a 1.5 oz, I have a larger one from Doyle that's a .75 oz

Glory

Welcome to the forum. Which boat do you have? I would love more info on the Harken traveler on your boat. I still have the original curved traveler and absolutely hate it.

BTW: I grew up in Dunedin, not too far from you.

Hi Bill
I have hull #443 from 1985,the traveller is something I pieced together with Harken parts,I fabricated the risers myself. You are right about the curved original, it's almost useless when the winds up

Did you recently purchase the boat? I've had some success on the racing circuit here in Norfolk, it's reasonably fast in cruising class, and pretty forgiving for an inexperienced crew (read: mine). Anyway, welcome to the forum!

We have had this boat for 4 years and been reasonably successful in the ARC fleets, which are between phrf and cruising fleets. We have won our class in Hospice,Columbus day,and Regatta Time in Abaco regattas. This year will be our first full year in the phrf fleet, but unless we get a little help on our rating,I dont see us winning much.
