I just bought hull #114, 1983 C36, Tao. It's a great boat, well maintained, but few add-ons. I'd like to add a windlass, preferably electric (age and a bum shoulder catch up with you). I saw an image of a C34 with the iwndlass mounted inside the anchor locker.
Has anyone tried that? Any photos? Beyond the specifics, anyone have clear preferences for brand, size, vertical vs. horizontal, etc?
Add-ons I want and might be able to squeeze from my budget: windlass, davits, radar.
Clear sailing.

You've already found the article by Jeff Cote on installing a windlass on the C36 Mk I, in the Technical - Upgrades section of this website, haven't you? To get to the C36IA home page just click on "Catalina 36 International Association" in the lower right hand corner of this page. Then click on "Technical", and then on "Upgrades". It's on page 3 of the articles there, I think.
Note: You must be a paid-up Member (capital M) of the C36IA to access our extensive library of Upgrade and Maintenance articles.

If you have a double door, try this: [url]http://www.c34.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windlass_Inside_Double_Door_Anch...
You're perfectly welcome to read about other ideas on our Tech wiki, in addition to Larry's suggestion.
