Im looking for some updated thoughts regarding Tufted Topper for the Vberth.
We have visited Hankscrafts factory in Florida and do not like what they had and we have replaced our foam a few years back .
I know there are many alternatives with foam with many different sources but we keep coming back to the Tufted Topper as a solution.
If any one has experience using it we would appreciate your thoughts and experience with the Topper.
Thank you

We are very happy with ours. We use it as a pillow top on our full mattress.

I saw this thread about mattress toppers and I thought I’d join in.
Last summer I left the front hatch unlatched and water soaked our mattress topper and bedding.
We compounded our mistake by trying to dry the topper in a “way too small” dryer. It got burnt by the dryer heat and ended up in a dumpster.
This winter a new mattress topper was on the study, action list. Almost every mattress topper I looked at was a foam or foam/gel/memory foam mix. I just can't sleep on a foam topper, they seem to reflect all of my body heat back to me and I resisted the impulse to buy one, even though many of the toppers advertised themselves as “cool to sleep on”. Lies, I just know it!
Well while walking through a Joann Fabric store, my wife showed me a product that should do the job nicely.
The product is called “Nu-Foam” and here is a short u-tube video about it.

We built our own mattress topper by taking 3 folding tables and with masking tape, laid out our V berth mattress shape. Then we cut the Nu-Foam into 3 horizontal strips. All total we used just under 14 feet of the nu-foam material.
I used 3M spray adhesive and glued the 3 pieces together.
Next we took 2 old queen bed sheets and sewed a cover like a big pillow case. Finally we added some Velcro to close the cover.
We waited until we had coupon from Joanne Fabric for 60% off before we bought the Nu-Foam.
Total cost was under $67.00
This was an easy project to do and I expect it to be an excellent mattress topper.
Unfortunately I won't get it on the boat until mid to late May. I'll let you know how it is to sleep on.
