storm sail for a in-mast main, z-spars

I'm a fairly new owner of a 1999 Catalina 36 MkII, tall-rig with the Z-Spars mast and boom for in-mast furling. There appears to be a slot next to the mainsail slot for a storm sail. I have no spare halyard install, unfortunately. Am I crazy? Can I install a halyard and hoist a storm sail in this track with some slides? It would also be convienient for a webbing mast ladder.

Any thoughts, anyone else out there with this mast configuration?

Thanks
