I have an old Edson GPS mount for my ancient (but still working) Garmin GPS12XLII. The arm mounts to the pedestal, sticks out about 6", and has a circular pad with an approx 1" threaded post onto which is mounted a plastic mount for my Garmin GPS. I have it mounted so that the GPS is just above the throttle lever, pretty well protected from just about everything.
Does anyone know of a smartphone mount, that will fit something like that? I've looked at bike mounts, but none that I've seen could easily mount the phone in a spot as protected. I don't like the idea of mounting it to the top of the guard, as I occasionally grab the guard to steady myself when the chop acts up.
Pics of anyone's solutions would be great..! (unfortunately, don't have any of mine)
Thanks.

I like Quad Lock mounts. I have two on my pedestal, one for the iPhone, the other for the iPad with InavX software. I also have them on my bicycle and in my pickup. Buy one case for your phone and as many mounts as you need. Phone still fits in the pocket easily.

Do you by any chance have any pictures of your devices as they are mounted on the pedestal? They look look like good, solid mounts, would just like to see how they are in practice.

The Iphone would be mounted to the lower right of the iPad but I used it to take the picture. :)

Looks great. Thanks for the pics, really helps. I think I could adapt that mount to my Edson GPS mount.
Nice job on the mount for the tablet, looks good and obviously sturdy.

I use two of the Zarcor phone mounts on my pedestal, one for old gps and one for phone so I have weather radio. They r great and inexpensive, plus with other bracket in the off season we use them in cars for road trips. Try to send pix later. Chic
