Does anyone have signet sl175/sl250 instruments? My old signet stuff died, and I've been trying to replace them with new units from signet, with some difficulty.
Primary problem seems to be radio interference on my handheld - when signet is turned on, it generates continuous noise on channel 16. Anyone else notice a problem of this type with instruments?
Tnx,
Matt
I still have them on my boat. Knot meter works, depth sounder display just flashes random numbers except for very occasionally.
I have received fairly prompt email replies from Signet but never actually bought anything from them. Have done better finding parts on ebay and craigslist.
Never had that problem with RF interference, but my previous boat had a signet depth sounder that, when switched on, would interfere with the swoffer analog knot log/odometer that was mounted a couple inches away, so could have been some sort of similar problem.
If you get pissed off and rip them out, send the depth unit my way!

I also still have the Signet instruments and haven't noticed any interference with the VHF. Although I haven't really looked for it. Could be a grounding or cabling problem. I assume you are at the helm with the VHF near the display unit there? I'll have to give that a try.

Do you have the sl175 & sl250 display, or the older units? My original 1000 and the sl80 that replaced ir were OK - it's the 175 & 250 combo with which I'm seeing the in
interference.
Yes - that is the configuration I have. Returning to the boat next week and will check the thing out for noise then. I have a display at the nav station too.
