hey 36'ers
i have recently discovered that my running lights no longer function. Also the depth/speedo and the wind direction/speed gauges are also not coming on.
Auto pilot on the starboard coming also inop.
Running lights: Has anyone rewired these lgihts? The for and aft lights are on the same switch. Does anyone know where they are spliced together?
I pulled the drawers out at the nave station and can see a lot of wires and no splices.
Right now I am checking continuity from the bow light to the switch using a long piece of wire. stay tuned
thanks in advance for the input

running lights update
I found no continuity on the power wire for the bow light. the ground hs good continuity. By the way this ground wire, based on the wire schematics, is the same ground for all the interior lights. All interior lights function just fine.
The million dollar question is: where is the splice for the power wire that goes from the running lights switch to the bow/stern lights? Think I'll give Catalina a call and see if they can point me in the right direction. Anyone here answeer the big question?
Since there are so many circuits that are inoperable it points to circuit breaker panel. The input to the circuit breakers are daisy chained. One break on this line and all other breakers past this breaker will loose power. Use a voltmeter and chase the positive feed to the circuit breakers. You will find a broken wire there.

About Sail La Vie
Our nav light wires (forward) run inside the anchor locker tucked under the deck on port side. These wires fell apart in our hands at a splice right there. They were very corroded.

Well for the bow light the wire runs on the port side in the anchor locker it heads up through the bow pulpit
I didn't have any luck getting a new wire pulled that rout, so drilled a hole in bow pulpit backing plate in the v berth
the wire runs on the port side on the under side of the deck,
you will have to remove the trim piece to get at the wire.
no idea where it crosses over to the starboard side.
unless it's tinned wire it rots from the end. Catalina didn't always use tinned wire
also check the connectors on the switches had to replace a few of them
