The metal air intake and exhaust vents on the transom of our '00 Cat36 are disreputable. They appear to be held on by several screws through the hull so easy enough to remove.
Two options: Re-chome or replace.
Has anyone done either?

I had that choice years ago, showed them to The Admiral, who said; "I like the patina, let 'em go!" Less work for everyone. You can't shine 'em up enough for them to last, it's not worth the $$ to rechrome, so either buy new shiny steel or plastic, white. I really enjoy watching them just do their thing! :D

Stu....
I love the laissez faire approach. Probably should that apply to other non-critical parts of the boat.
I'll send Catalina an email to see if they have such a thing as replacements.

Bruce, you can buy them at WM or Defender. It's not a "Catalina" part.

Bruce,
I surfed the web and found a couple of Stainless Steel vents for about $25 each 5 years ago. No worries since.
Can't tell you where I found them; my records were lost when the worms/virus destroyed our home network PCs and backup drives.
But, if you use a real search engine like dogpile.com, you can find good quality and good deals online.
