Replacing the Jabsco Copact Manual Head with Electric head

Yesterday, the screwa holding my head to the floor pulled free.  It looks like the wood is wet.  Two questions:
1)  Any idea what's under the fiberglass floor?  I have a feeling that I'll have to cut through and replace the wood;
2)  I've been looking at a raritan Sea Era, and a Jabsco Quiet Flush head replacement.  Any preferences/isues with either?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark - we replaced our Jabsco pump toilet with the Raritan Marine Elegance head and we (especially the Admiral) love it.  We went with the smart controller option and find that our holding tank lasts longer than when we were pumping.  Very efficient use of water!  We also went with the fresh water only option and that has been great too. Less smell from the head and tank.  Ended up mounting the control on the door above the head.

Harold,

1)  With the 8" platform, is the bowl at the right height?

2)  Is that afull sized seat?

3)  I've been thinking about the freshwater option.  How much water does a flush use?

4)  Are you using one tank for the toilet?

Thanks.  My next job is to open up the front of the platform, so I can replace the rotted wood under the toilet.

Harold,

I was looking at the specs for the Elegance unit, and it shows a depth of almost 19". My 1988 Catalina 36 only has 14' to the bulkhead.  I'll look at the Sea Era unit instead.

Thanks for your posts.
