Replace Aft Cabin cushion/matresses and possibly wall bolster

Our aft cabin mattress is in need of replacement.  We looked at Catalina Direct and at CatalinaYachtsStore and there is a wide difference in price for what looks like the same fabric choices.  Catalina Direct comes in at $1270 and CYS comes in a little over $2,000.

Has anyone ordered cushions from either and do you know if there is a difference that would justify the price gap?

Hi Scott,

You might want to look at a local upholstery shop.  I received quotes (2018) for the main cabin in leather like fabric for both and my local shop.  CD $6,882, CYS $5,875 and Local Shop $4,139.  There are some hidden costs involved with either CD or CYS.
You are required to send the bolster back to match the snaps on your dime for shipping.  Check to see what the shipping cost are going to be.  At the time I received samples of the material from each.  My local shop's fabric was 50% thicker and more robust.  A year later, I bought the rear cabin cushion for $2,835 including the Spacer cushion between the seat and bunk cushions.  4 cushions in total, no shipping cost in either direction.   I did buy the bow cushions for the sweetheart price of $550, work must have been a little slow.  On the plus side, you'll have a better selection of fabrics and colors.

I can't attach photos, they are a little to large for the website.  I can, if you're interested, send them via an e-mail to you.  I was able to take all my old cushions to them to inspect and measure for they're cushions.  Every snap fit perfectly.  As a gift, she threw in 4 throw pillows to to go with the Saloon cushions for free.

I hope this helps and not muddy the water to much.
