Hi all,
I was thinking of getting a runner rug for inside the boat. Does anyone happen to know what size would work best, to run most of the length of the cabin? I'm not nearby, and was just browsing amazon, so was hopeful someone might have a good idea...
Thanks!

The cabin sole is not a straight line from stern to bow. As a result, we've always used two small rugs by the companionway ladder and going into the Vee berth and a round one in the main cabin area.

Hi
We were also going to install a rug but at the end we decided to buy carpet and cut it ourselves.
Two months into it and the admiral is still searching for the right one....

I don't have the size (they're on the boat), but I have a runner that fits pretty much perfectly from the aft cabin to just short of the mast. I have the dinette setup, so there's a seat along the head bulkhead. The rug is about an inch too wide along the seat base, but I just let it turn up a bit there, and it's fine. This is the 2nd or 3rd runner I've used over the years, and they've all fit fine; picked them up at Lowes or Home Depot.

Caprice is a C36 model 1.5 not a 2 like yours, but my runner length from the doorway of the V-Birth to the entrance to the rear berth area is 13 feet 2 inches. Add another 3 feet 1 inch into the V-Birth area. I trimmed the width of my runner to fit. If you do this trimming be sure you runner is the type fabric that can be trimmed without unraveling otherwise it will have to be binded which cost about the same as the carpet itself.
I have been using carpeting for several years. The major problem with carpet, even if it is outdoor carpet, if it gets soaked it has to be removed to dry out to avoid forming mold underneath.

Great, thanks all! I'll check out the Depot and see what they've got in stock.

Josh - we also got ours from Home Depot. Unfortunately, we are not on the boat right now but can get you the info tomorrow if you would like. The runner is a perfect width and runs from about the nav station to about the vberth door. It's abput 6 feet. We also got a matching rectangular one for under the main salon table.

I got mine from Bed and Beyond. No trimming required and has the anti-slip bottom - it prevents the floor board from getting scratched up as well. It is washable. I will post more data from its tag when I make a trip to the boat.
