Ice box drain pump

Greetings

I have a 1993 C-36. The icebox foot pump is not working.  I'd like to bypass the pump and run the drain hose to the bilge. But I can't see a way to access either the hose or the pump. Any thoughts?

Hello,
Regarding the foot pump, I repaired the foot-pump membrane (instead of running a rather dirty fridge water to the bilge) by removing the 4 fixing screws on the front panel. You must remove the wooden box (fire extinguisher compartment) under the gimbal stove to gain access to the foot-pump and remove it. Then, it is your choice.
Good luck!

Mike;
Lavrendios is correct. You must remove the wooden box that is under the stove to gain access to the foot pump. Even then it's not the easiest of jobs because there is limited space. To access the drain hose or replace it, you may have to remove the draws under the sink. I replaced the pump and then fed the drain hose to the bilge. If you drain the fridge directly to the bilge, be sure to use a stopper in the fridge drain hole. You would be surprised how much cold air is drained directly into the bilge without a stopper. It's a good idea to run a weak solution of bleach through the hose as it can develop a smell after a bit.
If you decide to replace the Rule/Whale foot pump there is a right and left 'exit hose' models - so be sure which one you need
Has someone shown you how to remove the 3/8ths teak plugs that cover the screws holding the box and the draws in place ?
(If not it's a simple matter of drilling a small hole in the teak plug and driving a small screw into the drilled hole. The plug should pop right out)
Good luck,
Bill

All good info.
I'll add a bit more. If the pump isn't working, it may have internal debris that is holding the backflow valve open. The pump is fairly easy to open up and clean out.
