I have finally found a boat I would like to buy.
I submitted my offer tonight.
I am curious how to read the HIN number.
Are the last three numbers the month and year made?
Are the middle four numbers the actual boat number?
The number is CTYR####I###
Thanks

Hope that helps and sorry about the goof up thought you were asking about the boat number.

We recently bought a 1987 vintage, C36. The plate on the transom is compelety worn thin and the I cannot read the hull number. Is there somewhere else on the boat I can find it? I'm curious about the history of this boat. There is a number, hand written with a black marker (#58) on the removable floor panel under the dinette. It was shipped from the US to Thailand on a cradle and we are the 3rd owners since it was registered here.

The HIN can be found on the upper part of the starboard transom, just below the rub rail.

the hull number would be way above 58 in 1987..they were well into the 600's by 1987.

I was finally able to make out the number. I think it is #568. The numbers stamped into the plate are worn down and very difficult to make out. Would this make it an '87 vintage? Thanks.
