Engine Oil type to use?

There's a great article on the site for changing your oil for newbies (like me). The author uses 10-w30. But I see diesel motor oil on the shelf too.

What kind oil are you all putting in the M-35BC?

Thanks guys, one last question. The westerbeke Universal manual recommends not mixing Brands because of the combination of the different additives that each brand may use. I will pump out as much as I can, but from reading it seems that most people only get about three and a half quarts out of the engine leaving a 1/2 to a full quart behind. You think I should be concerned with adding Rotella to the remnants of last year's Valvoline? My thought is since I change it annually and I don't achieve a hundred hours anyway, the chemical combination damage would be minimal. Curious The Forum thoughts...
