Trying to refurb my table and the lower section spins in the stand that is mounted to the sole. I see the lower aluminum tube section is tapered, but mine hits the hull before the taper sections reaches the base. For the middle knob, I see Catalina Direct has a insert replacement kit, but only keeps the table down or not spinning in the middle section. Not sure if the table is supposed to spin or rotate? Thanks

The pin that holds ours down broke as the half inch sized pressure plate inside fell down/out and the PO drilled a hole through to use a bolt instead (Not ideal as it doesn't hold it all the way down). Thanks for the heads up re: Catalina Direct, but I suspect they won't sell the pressure plate. My issue is figuring out how to disassemble the two aluminum tubes from each other to access the pressure plate from the inside AND finding that part.
Regarding the rotation: ours does so by the narrower upper tube rotating on top of the hydraulic piston inside the fixed outer lower aluminum tube. The wider lower tube should be fixed inside the base and jammed without sliding through to the hull below.
Sounds like you need a new base as the hole in the old one has worn out and is now too wide. As I've been able to find replacement knobs online I would guess you could find bases and even the aluminum hydraulic assembly, although it won't be cheap!
