Cutlass Bearing Tool

I just completed my first season on my "new to me" 34.  She needs a new cutlass bearing and I've read on the c34.org that the 36 Association may have a cutlass bearing tool that is loaned to members.  If so and available, can someone lead me in the right direction to learn more about it?

Thank you,

Bill,
If you go in the members section under toolbox you can request it.  There are also deep sockets for the keek bolts, and an optical tachonometer.

If the class tool is not available or you need it in a hurry, try Weekend'R Products.  I just used them and in a matter of 3 days from first correspondence I had the whole kit and a new cutlass bearing at my doorstep.  I have done the task a couple of times with the shaft out of the boat but this was the first time doing it with the shaft in and it was super simple with the provided instructions and tools.  It took me about an hour from start to finish.

I was in a hurry so I got a quote from the yard which ended up being close to $300 just for labor.  I found Ken online (contact him at Ken@WeekendRProducts.com) and he was upfront and quick to respond.  It is not purely a tool rental as he requires you to purchase the bearing from him as well but the bearing price was similiar in price to buying it from others without the tool.  The bearing was $55, rental was $49, and shipping there and back (may be different for your location) was $35 for a total of $139.
