Coronado Islands off N. Baja 18 nm sw of San Diego

This Mexican Nature Preserve has 4 small islands close to San Diego. Anybody been there? Looks inviting.

Barren and steep, much like the tip of Point Loma.  It's a Mexican wildlife refuge and humans are not allowed to go ashore, but a very good dive site.  At times, there may be a small military detachment and a few lighthouse keepers ashore.

The Mexican Navy has been enforcing passports for everyone aboard, and if you even have a fishing rod on board, whether fishing or not, you need a Mexican fishing license for everyone aboard.  But as stated above, no real access, and pretty barren.  If you want remote islands with natural beauty, head north to the Channel Islands.
