Cabin Heaters

It's cold on Lake Superior!!! And not just today ( it is 20 degrees w/24kts out of the NW!!) A cabin heater sure would extend the sailing season by several months.....

I have been on boats that have used 'solid fuel' heaters and think that the diesel is the way to go. I have never used more than a 1/4 tank in a season of sailing on the Lake. So I'm thinking diesel heater on the starboard bulkhead across from the head. w/ one of the Dickenson Marine products (Lofofoten or Newport). Any feedback of what others have done? Location? Chimney? Issues? Little Help?
