Hi everyone I'm very new to the association. I am in the middle of buying a C36 in Canada.
I love the boat but it has been stored on the hard for 5 years. Although it is covered with a proper winter tarp there has been some water ingress and the bilge has 2 inches of water. There is also a light covering of mold/mildew over much of the interior of the cabin. While I'm sure that this can be cleaned from the hard surfaces, the owners left all the cabin upholstery - saloon cushions berth cushions in the boat and we are concerned they will have absorbed mold spores. From what I know they cannot really be satisfactorily cleaned and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get a complete set of replacements, from who and at what cost?
Also as the Universal M25 engine has not been run in a long time I am worried there may be corrosion inside the cylinders etc. Does Westerbeke still provide adequate service kits and parts for this engine?
