New sail

I need a new headsail (150 genoa) for my 1987 Catalina 36 tall rig. I no longer race and only need a good cruising sail (i.e., dacron). I have quotes from several local sailmakers (North Sails, Ullman Sails, etc) but have seen the website for FX Sails that advertises cruising sails for Catalina 36's at a substantial discount. Does anyone have any experience with this outfit, or know of any other company that offers a good quality cruising sail at a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Sea-STAR skipper:)

My copy of the Mainsheet arrived yesterday. Have a look at the second to last page, it has some clearance items from Catalina, one of which was a 150 head sail for $1150. I do not recall if it was for the tall rig. I know they had a tall rig mainsail listed.

I also noted Seaward Products offered a 25% discount on all items. This is after I purchased my new engine panel and wiring upgrade LAST WEEK.

I purchased a cruising assymetrical spinnaker from FX last year. They were great to deal with and their price was much more competitve than our three local sail lofts. Even came up with a custom color pattern at no extra charge. The only problem I'm experiencing with this sail, is that it has a fairly small slot or angle of sail. We've pretty much given up using it for racing and use it probabbly as it was intented: cruising.

I hate to say it Steve, but the 25% off ad at Seaward was in the previous Mainsheet as well. Since you purchased last week I would think you should have received the discount;)
