Diva Di cruising to the Bahamas

Should anyone wish to check out my blog for our planned 3-month cruise (Punta Gorda, FL to Exumas, Bahamas and back), here is the URL:

We leave Fri 28 Mar, weather permitting.

Please note that Internet connectivity over there will be spotty, so there may be up to a week with no posting.

Duane, It will be fun to read your blog and follow you. Safe travels. We have spent 3 winters over there and the Exumas are a great place, Next winter it is the Raggeds and further.

Thanks, Randy. In 2008, we got as far as Georgetown, then crossed to Eluethera and headed up to explore the Abacos. IF the boat, weather, and time allow, we hope to go farther east to Long Island, Rum Cay, Conception, San Salvador, then hit Cat Island on the way back.

To my way of thinking, if we are all the way down there, we should really try to explore those other places. OTOH, if you have to rush or make bad decisions because you are in a hurry, that is worse than missing a few destinations.

If you blog is anything like the last one, I can't wait. Of course, you could do without the "engine thingie", right? Have a great trip, we're all looking forward to your posts, they were great reading.

Thanks, Tom & Janis, Chuck, and Stu.

I hope my missives will be devoid of too many systems failures, but rather entertaining and inspiring. My goal is to portray what OUR cruising life is like, with the hopes that YOU will write your own story (and hopefully share it!).

Thanks, all. just wanted to post that we left Fri 28 Mar and got 8 hours south before hunkering down for a blow from the south. Winds should be N for the next 2 days and we hope to make tracks.

I don't expect to post updates here, just on our blog.

Cheers,

Hi, all. Right now in the upper Exumas, Bahamas. Weather had been challenging and uncomfortable for a bit, but is great right now. Hope you are all following the blog if you can stomach my admittedly wordy prose.

Hope the norther sailors are getting thawed out by now.

Fair winds!
