Hi
I've started my cruise from Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia to the Whitsundays. Here is a link to my blog.

Very nice blog Robert.
I find it especially interesting since we hope to visit Ozz for a month to 6 weeks in late 2014 or early 2015 and possibly charter in the Whitsundays.
Many years ago (late 80's) I met a couple from Mooloolaba in their home built aluminum yacht, while we were anchored in the same bay in Alaska. We then met up with them again in northern British Columbia. Since then I've always wanted to see the Gold Coast and hope we visit soon...

Thanks Howard and Linda
Be aware that our summer, December to February, is the cyclone season in the tropics and you may not enjoy the best weather at that time in the Whitsundays. Having said that, people do charter at that time so it can be the luck of the draw.
If you go to YouTube and search "Kismet, sailing the Whitsundays" there's a great series of videos of an Italian couple who charted one recent summer. The videos are very well put together and enjoyable to watch. They speak Italian some of the time but there's a button to click for an English translation. While I haven't been to Miami and Florida I imagine the Gold Coast is pretty much like what you have at home, perhaps on a smaller scale! Lol. The Sunshine Coast, particularly around Mooloolaba is very pretty and worth the effort to get there. This is dumb. I'm running out of characters! I'll post the rest in another post. Cheers Robert

Part two
What I was going to say was if you're interested you're welcome to take Breezly for a week or two and sail around Hervey Bay. Once I get to the Whitsundays a couple from Tasmania, who I've never met, are taking my boat for six weeks. Then my wife and I are using theirs in Tasmania next summer for a couple of weeks. I was hoping for an enquiry from someone in France or Greece to do a boat swap but no luck yet. Lol.
I'm having a lot of trouble editing these posts on my ipad with this new forum software. Is anyone else having the same problems? I have to disable rich text to edit but then lose formatting. Anyway, hope you both enjoy Australia.
Regards
Robert

Hi Robert;
Interesting proposal, and our boats are similar vintage too. We are located in British Columbia, not Miami...
You can visit our blog here: http://sv-silhouette.blogspot.ca/2013_06_01_archive.html - and see what kind of sailing we do here.
I need to update it though...

Hello Howlin
you sent me a PM but you must have not upgraded to the new site yet as I can't send you one. Can you PM me again with an email address and I can then reply to you?
thanks
