VC17 Alternative

VC 17 is no longer available in Canada, not sure if it's available in the states. Has anyone come up with an alternative? That's easy to apply without too much hard work?

Thanks, Rich.

Rich, the latest from Interlux regarding over-coating existing VC 17 bottoms:

Interlux VC Offshore

VC Offshore combines superior antifouling performance with a super smooth low friction surface for the performance conscious boater. VC Offshore is further enhanced by the addition of Teflon. Matte finish, 3 coat application. VC17 Overcoating Instructions: Wet sand the aged VC 17m with 120 grit sandpaper and remove sand residue from the surface , Overcoat with three coats of VC Offshore.

HI Rich,  We still have it here in the US.  Last fall I bought a case of it in Michigan.  It might be worth a trip to the Port Huron West Marine.

Best of Luck

This may be too late, but I faced the same dilemma last spring. Decided to switch to aqua guard as it was readily available in my area, reasonably priced and not a difficult transition. The boat came out this weekend and I'm quite pleased with the results. There are a couple of small patches where my prep failed, but otherwise the hull lifted fairly clean and the powerwash took care of any remnants. I'm planning addressing the patches this fall and re-coating in the spring.
