I need to replace my impeller, or I think I should after three years and just want to know if anybody verify can verify the type. Our boat is in 1998 Catalina 36 bark two and the engine is a universal M35. I found an old package on the boat with the code
K 9000 – SHW
I also am going to attempt to replace the fuel filter, any tips would be great. We no longer have a marine mechanic in the area. Thanks, Rich.

The Universal P/N for the fuel filter is 298854
We have the M35BC engine which is virtually the same as yours. When you replace the fuel filter, there's no need to bleed air or prefill the filter with fuel. Just turn the ignition key several times for 15 or so seconds each time. Don't push the start button while doing this. The key will activate the fuel pump (and glow plugs) which will fill the fuel filter. Then, start the engine and run it to double check all is well.
I believe you have a Sherwood water pump. I replaced ours with an Oberdorfer. The Universal impeller p/n for Sherwood is 200175.

Rich, you don't need a Universal filter. There are lots of options, including NAPA Gold #3390 which I have used for 20+ years. You should be able to find on this site a listing of compatible filters.
