Does anyone know of a manufacturer of a prop shaft generator? (Common on commercial power boats that operate 24/7 engines) I know my shaft just turns constantly while under sail (no folding prop) and the drag is a given already so why not use it to generate some electricity? We have a M35 on a 1996 MkII and a drip less shaft bearing setup.
Cheers,
Brian

Brian,
It's my understanding that the transmission should be shifted into reverse when under sail. A locked prop will produce more drag, but a freewheeling prop in neutral supposedly shortens the transmission life through increased wear.
