AC unit not producing cool air when running on Honda generator

Hello Cruisers,

Two years ago purchased the Honda EU2200i Companion generator to run CruiseAir 16000 unit with a Smart Start system. Tested it a couple of times and it worked fine but did not use it extensively.

Last summer upgraded to a Mastervolt Chargemaster Plus 12V/50A battery charger from a 30amp Charles Charger.

Last week attempted to run AC or Heat.

The CruiseAir unit would not generate cool air or hot air but otherwise ran fine. The unit would run, intake and pump water overboard, fans running and pushing room temperature air out of all the outlets.. Honda managed the power surges of the CruiseAir unit which just kept running.

The CruiseAir works just fine at the dock, plugged into shore power, producing both heat and cool.....

Any ideas?

Sounds like there's an electrical leg from the Honda to the compressor (heat pump) that's not working/corroded/severed.

Hi there, my air conditioner craps out all the time.  Everything runs--but no cold air.  But on top of the water circulation pump on my unit is an air bleed thumb screw.  While the pump is running I open the valve, bleed the air and then shut the whole thing down for a few minutes.  On restart it works normally.

Anyway, that's what I do :)
