Where is the deck light?

On my 1994 Mk 1.5, there is a switch on my electrical panel labeled Deck Light.

Since there aren't any lights on my spreaders, I'm wondering what this is for. I have the steaming light about halfway up the front of my mast, but there's no downward pointing light on the bottom of it. I was at the boat the other night and flipped the switch on, and a cursory check above decks didn't reveal any illumination.

I'm wondering if there is a burned out bulb I'm not aware of, or if this switch/option wasn't used on my boat.

If it wasn't used, I will put my new chartplotter on this switch, unless folks here have other recommendations for the best place to wire that.

Hi Joe,

Most boats that don't have spreader lights, use a combo light for the steaming light and the deck light.  May be a previous owner change out the combo light for a simple steaming light.

Hi Lou, Thanks, I will take a closer look at mine next time I'm down with the binoculars.

Yep, steaming light on top, deck light on bottom.  Mine is shown in attached photo.
