Heat Exchanger Clamps Broken

Has anyone had their Heat Exchanger  break loose from the two brackerts that hold it?
Any easy fix to resecure it or shold I replace it?

Thanks

if so: yes, I found this also when I bought our Catalina.
The cooler tied nicely with ty-raps to the engine and the supports corroded and broken.
I ordered a set of new 3" heatexchanger bracket-set through Catalina-Direct, partnr. Z4365 and all fitted back as it should be.

I think what you are refering to is the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger mounting bracket broke on my M25XP engine in my 1986 C30. I jury rigged a replacement bracket made from aluminum. Heatexchangers have some weight, and they are subjected to some significant vibration from the diesel which translates to mounting bracket fatique (as are alternators). I think I've read some older posts mentioning mounting the heat exhangers (off the engine) in the compartment for easier maintenance (and elimination of bracket failure)

Peter is probably referring to this thread, where a few of us who have relocated the heat exchanger posted photos:

Makes maintenance (particularly access to the transmission fluid fill) a whole lot easier.
