Digital thermostat for CU-100 cold machine

Ripped out the original AB that did more than its duty and am replacing it with a CU-100 and new evaporator.  With the big fan, I suspect it’s going to work much better.

The manual mentions a Digital thermostat that I cannot find anywhere.

I would like to do a digital thermostat has anyone done this with a CU-100 cold machine?

Interesting.  No one uses a digital thermostat for their fridge?

Have you spoken with the CU manufacturer to see what a recomended source of supply might be ? I know our local RV dealer carries such items in stock or some thing similar to this from Amazon;
https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-00986A2-Refrigerator-Wireless-Thermometer....
Where the sensor is located inside the box and has a remote readout.

When I read your post you asked if anyone had used a digital controller with a CU-100.  I in fact do use a digital controller but with my original AB cold machine.  It works very well but I cannot speak for the CU-100 frig.  I'm trying to find my user manual so I can give you more information on it but no luck yet. I bought the unit at Strictly Sail in Chicago many years ago from one of the marine frig dealer there.  Will post again if I find the manual.

How funny. Bill, just ordered the remote ‘thermometer’ earlier today.

Seems the digital ‘thermostat’ to run the CU-100 may not be all that great and possibly why you cannot find anything on them. Dometic does sell one for $400 - it’s a well kept secret.

This led to the AcuRite and adjusting the manual thermostat.  See how it goes.

I use several temperature controllers made by Inkbird (model ITC 1000, $15 at Amazon - both 12v and 120v versions) for my homebrew beer setup. I use them for chest freezers converted to keg refrigerators (or just big chest refrigerator/freezers) as well as a fermentation refrigerator.

They work well, but to dial in the delta T and reduce compressor cycling the temp probe needs some 'thermal mass'. Some people place them into a glass of water, but I use a small Tupperware of sugar, as I always thought the water would cause the temp probe to malfunction eventually.

I haven't used one in the boat yet - I read somewhere of a 3 watt power consumption (need to test it myself) - it all adds up. I have just used the indoor outdoor thermometers (for many years) on boats and RV's with good results.
