Hot Water Heater Anode

The Feb-March Boat US magazine has an article about changing the water heater anode.... never thought of the heater even having one. Does anyone know if our heaters in the stock water heaters have anodes and have they ever changed them?

Attached are the pics in the article. I should have included them in my original post. Picture 3  gives the best suggestion on where the anode was on this boat.

I'm not sure which water heater model you have, but I have a 6-gallon Seaward in my Mk1.5.  In the manual, they specify that IF you think you need an anode, you are to remove the drain valve and replace with an anode.  See attached.
