Ceiling Fan

Summer arrived Wisconsin,  90+ tomorrow!  We like heavy air movement at the dock and don't care for AC at the dock.  Please, suggestions on reversible box fan above cabin top or entry hatch.  What have you done ?

Peter;
 I'm using two 12 volt -10 inch- dual speed Battery operated fans obtained from the local Walmart or Amazon. They are made by a company called '02-Cool' and are about $20-25 each. They can be battery powered using EIGHT D cells (not Six) important- or the AC line using the supplied adapter. I'll see if I can find a model number for you.
They come with an AC adapter to enable operation from the AC line. What I do is cut off the AC adapter and put a 12 volt cigarette plug on the end of the supplied line and plug it into the boat's 12 volt system. These fans are powered by 12 volt computer fan motors and are two speed. Mine have lasted several years now and provide an adequate amount of air flow with a surprisingly low current drain.
The fans are available in two configurations; one using SIX 'D' cell batteries and you do not want that model. Look for the model that is powered by EIGHT 'D' cells since that will be the model that will work on 12 volts DC.  Try Walmart part number FD 10002A or FD 05004.

We use Caframo model 7620 hatch fan. The fan is 12v. It is a  tight fit for the mid  hatch but if I adjust the hatch locks i can use the suction cups on the fan and hang it in the cabin. The fan cycles through a turbo mode to exhaust the boat then powers down to sustained speed.
