Temp gage reading question.

Does anyone know if the temperature gage will read higher or lower if your battery voltage changes?
With my failed Alt. my voltage was only at 12.5 volts. Normally its around 14.2 volts.
My temperature seemed a few degrees warmer than normal. I hoping that I don't have a second problem?
Thanks.

Teleflex gauges are calibrated at 14 volts.  Changes in battery voltage (higher or lower by about a volt) will tend to make the meter drift 5 to 6 degrees higher.

Thanks Nick, I was hoping this was the case. My gage seemed 10 degrees higher at 12 volts.
Great Web site. I printed page 4 for my files.
