Galley Floor Adhesive

The anti slip floor covering in the galley has lost its bond to the liner and tends to shift and pucker in places. The underside of the flooring and the liner under have traces of ahesive that is dirty and will hinder trying to reapply adhesive. Has anyone dealt with this situation and found a cleaner and adhesive that is compatible with the materials.

Thanks

Gary

Did you ever find a solution?  My galley floor squeaks when ever we step on it and I'm not sure of the best fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've put this off for higher priorities but plan to finally address this spring, no sure solution yet. Tried to contact Catalina on cost of a new piece of material and adhesive but email went unanswered.  Thought I'd carefully test some solvents for the non skid material, the hull liner will tolerate a stronger adhesive cleaner. For adhesive I talked to a flooring supplier about what they use for the newer cushioned vinyl floor materials and was told it was essentially contact cement. Will probably try one of those if I don't find something better.

I redid my cabin sole with a vinyl topping and rather than regular cement they recommended a two part epoxy mix based on where the boat is located. I'm in NJ where we get temp extremes between summer & winter and they said regular cement would expand & contract at different rates than the vinyl so it would eventually come loose. It would be different if we were in Florida or some place with temps like that. Food for thought.

I put a carpeting over most the cabin wood sole on Caprice. The carpeting was available from Defender Marine Industries. I used two sided tape to hold it down. It's has been O.K. for the past year. Oil will stain, water and coffee spilled on it will not stain. There may be a cleaning product that will take care of the oil stain, but it is so small and not noticeable that I did not try to clean it off.
