Had anyone done serious study comparing PSS vs Tide Marine' s dripless shaft packing for Catalina 36?

Quite honestly why anyone use these systems with the improvements made with the packing material amazes me. 9 years and an occasional tightening no drips.

Hi Gary and All
your point is certainly valid and worth heeding.
I wont go that way, as I have bought this boat with the PSS already installed.
My situation is that my PSS came with the boat and functions properly when the instructions are followed.
I have now corrected the faulty VENT LINE installation and will post a report under C36/375 "Maintenance”.
Yes the CORE product is a great improvement on the previously available packing-gland material.
