C70 Raymarine Chart Plotter ReStarts every 3 to 4 minutes

C70 Raymarine Chart Plotter reStarts (reBoots) every 3 to 4 minutes?
I have dismantled its pedestal cover and checked for loose wires ... all seemed ok.
I then went and goggled for a Raymarine technician answer ...... and was directed to a commercial marine electrician who Texted Back "he could solve the problem" ... then asked for an $40 MasterCard payment prior to giving me info and/or proceeding further ... Has anyone used such a Service?

Before I paid a penny I would want to hear a general diagnosis based on the symptoms you can describe.

Try calling Beacon Marine http://www.beaconmarineelectronics.com/contact.html and see what they say. They've always been super-helpful for me.

I have run across some site on Google searches that says they can answer your questions, is it worth $50 to you. I never used them, seems like a scam.

This has scam written all over it.  You only receive an answer or recommendation to send the gear to raymarine for repair.

i sent my E80 in to raymarine about 6 months ago for a similar problem at the recommendation of the raymarine moderator.  Great service.

Thanks for your replies and advice.
Yes the site that says 'they can fix my problem' looks like a scam.
I did not take the chance.
I did email Beacon Marine ... they gave me a flat fee of US$450 and needed two weeks.
Freight was extra, of course.
I will try Raymarine in Australia.
