Fuel tank leak

On my new to me 97 mkii I had (have) a small fuel leak coming from the fuel sending unit or the gasket for the unit. I overfilled the tank and 3 days later found fuel running down the tank from the sender. I ran the engine for a couple hours while I cleaned the mess.
Now I'm not sure what's leaking?
Has anyone seen the sender leak? I'm thinking it's the gasket. I tightened the sender, It wasn't really loose.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

There was a prior discussion on this - http://www.c36ia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1718
The 5-bolt sender gasket seems to be pretty standard, available at West Marine and Amazon, among others. I purchased a replacement on E-bay for 7 bucks (not boat bucks, for a change!) , including shipping. Make sure to put some sealant on the screws (I'm told the fuel can wick up the threads).
