compost heads

A sailboat owner in our marina has just installed a composting head. Has any one used one of these and if so what did you think

LOL!!!!!

I looked into this a year ago because we were finding the tiny holding tank a big issue. Decided against it, there's as much negative as positive feedback out there on them. Plus they are pretty expensive. One big issue is disposal of the "liquid waste", to put it delicately, it gets collected separately and you still need some place legal to dispose of it. We compost at home so the idea of composting is quite acceptable to us, it just didn't seem to solve our problem. Instead I opted to put in a 28 gallon holding tank.

If you haven't read this yet, I'd do that first:

It's a light and entertaining read anyway, and paints a pretty horrific picture of the composting head....
