I have a leak which I think is coming from the outboard genoa track. Has anyone removed this? I am wondering how hard it is to get to all the bolts on the inside.
Would I be better off trying to caulk around it without removing it? Looks like a really big job.
The leak is in the galley running down the interior hull. Pretty sure it is not inboard track or stanchion, the bolts were dry on these.
Any thoughts where it may be coming from?

I had the same question a few months back, although I don't have a leak there...yet.
I don't think anyone has ever done this and Catalina has designed and built the boat so that it is very difficult.
In preparation to remove both the inner and outer genoa tracks to simply rebed them, which we're supposed to do what? every 5-10 years right?... I've had to cut access holes in the hull liner (not too bad) but also tear out the top of the one-beautiful teak cabinets in the main salon -- horrible! I basically ruined the cabinets because of that, since Catalina had glued and stapled the cabinets together! It will now take a skilled cabinet maker to refinish this. They should have thought about this from a normal maintenance point of view. I get angry at Catalina every time I think about it.

I have not rebedded mine, but I have tightened the nuts. All the inside fasteners are readily accessible on our 1999 model. Maybe they learned a lesson somewhere along the way.

Looks like access to the outer genoa track hold down bolts is not the best on Sceptre either. I had a quick gawk and it looks like I'll have to remove the molding which runs behind the galley cabinets. Putting my fingers behind the molding I could feel wire runs, so that will have to be addressed as well.
It would be nice if the bolts were as accessible as the inner tracks.
