Stove mount

The teak trim around my galley needs to be striped and varnished. There is very little clearance around the stove, so I need to remove the stove from it's mounts, and lower it the 1-1 1/2" to sit in it's recess. This should allow me to strip or remove the trim over the winter.

I'm assuming that the stove just sits in it's mounts, being held in by gravity. If that's the case, I assume I could lift it straight up, move it forward a bit, and lower it to the bottom of it's recess. Anyone ever remove their stove that could confirm this? It's the 'standard' Hillerange 2 burner gas stove with oven, not certain of the exact model.

Thats right Gary just lift it straight up and it will be free of the hinges! be careful because you do have a slant of the hull to contend with in that pocket so make sure you bring it far enough forward to sit on the flat also be sure you have enough length of gas hose line and not kink it you may have to remove it! Hope this helps.

Gary - I replaced my oven last year and had to depress two flat retainer springs before the oven could be lifted free of the gimbal mounts. It was simple to do with a small screwdriver. Just had to use my third hand:eek:

Kenny:  I used the Seward Princess 2 burner model 2174.  Bought it from Defender but I'm not sure it's still available.

We love the stove and oven combination.
