I'm attaching a picture of the support for the drop leaf on our cockpit table. The two halves are connected by a line that is apparently spring loaded internally in each half. I need to replace the line but am uncertain how to get access to the spring mechanisms and secure the line. Has anyone done this? If not, does anyone have information on the manufacturer?

I had to replace mine, and I think (recalling correctly???) they were purchased from Catalina Direct.

David,
I've also heard they are available at Catalina Direct. Others have tried to fix their broken supports, but decided it wasn't worth the effort:
I looked at replacing the center line but decided it wasn’t feasible. There is a crimp about a third of the way from the center of the tubes where the spring and line have a stop. In order to replace the line there just isn’t a way to remove and replace the crimp unless you had special tools for both jobs. When a new support costs $20-something the labor isn’t worth it. As you hint, I hoped I could figure a way to replace the line and slip a knot down to the spring but just don’t see how.

Larry and Tom: Thanks for your responses. You are correct. Catalina Direct does have them, although at about $38 each. But, what choice do I have. As Craig Spear noted, I could not figure a way to put a new line in them. Also, I keep forgetting about Catalina Direct, thinking it does not specialize in the 36. But, of course, there are a lot of carryovers. Thanks again.
