What models do people use and where do you all tie them?
Specifically, I'm trying to figure out whether I can get away with a 35' jackline on my Mk II or whether I will need the 45' length, if I buy this brand / model:

Also open to suggestions for other jackline / models. West Marine's doesn't appear quite as nice... Thoughts?

David, do a search for 'jackline' on this forum and you'll see a few threads on this topic. One of the threads, initiated by Hilbre, has a post from me with three attached photos. My WM flat braid jacklines have served for nearly a dozen 'Outside' trips from the Columbia to the Strait or the Strait to the Columbia, and I expect them to be doing just fine when I quit sailing in a decade or so.

I made my own jack lines. I purchased my webbing from REI for a fraction of the WM cost. The webbing sold at REI is used for mountaineering and climbing which require and handle high loads. After measuring the correct length I took the webbing to a neighborhood shoe store and had them do the stitching (loops on both ends). My lines have been on the boat for several seasons and will soon need to replaced. The only thing I would change is to have a loop sewn on one end and use an adjuster on the other end.
