Aft berth looks a little snug, and maybe the v berth might make you feel a little less claustrophobic.
When sleeping in v berth are you head to fore or aft?
thanks

Blair,
The forward end of the V-Berth is fairly narrow. I think most people sleep with their heads facing aft.

Yes, its head's aft in the f'wd vee berth..
Stbd settee is too short for even my 5'8". Saloon double is comfy but trouble to set up and put away.
Aft cabin is OK for me when I'm alone, but GF hates it.

V berth, head facing aft. Almost plenty of room for me, my wife and both our dogs.

Aft cabin since we first got a boat with a cabin in 1993. Dislike v berths because it always feel like the head is lower than the feet which I find to be uncomfortable and if you sleep the other way with the head at the skinny end there's no room for two people.
V-berth; cause that's where we've slept on all our boats.
When we first got 'Silhouette' we tried the aft - I liked it, but the admiral vetoed my choice... :o

the admaral and i sleep in the v-berth using the starboard bulkhead as a head board. the dresser makes a nice nightstand and it's easy to reach the light. im 6ft.1in. she is 5.0 ft.. i sleep aft and she forward. this leaves about 6in. at our feet with tons of room for both of us on each side. our boat is an 1984.

V-Berth with heads aft while in harbor, at anchor or on a mooring. Aft berth when underway overnight or on a long passage, especially if the boat is rolling.

Does anyone have the exact dimensions of the C-36 V berth? I presently have a C-34 Mk II. I am very interested in a C-36 but would have trouble making the move if I had to give up the huge V berth I now enjoy. The C-34 berth is 80" long, 90" wide at the head and 24" wide at the foot.
Cheers

With the infill cushions, the C375 vee-berth is huge. I will measure, but I can sleep across the berth, and there is still room for a 6'3" person.

And why is it that the v-berth always is lower at the back than front? It isn't much, but enough that your senses pick it up. Seems every boat is that way.

The ply access panels under the v berth sag a bit when someone heavy sleeps there(me)..so its firm and even at the edge, near the hull, and a dip in the middle.Seems like i am always trying to stop myself from slipping to the center..maybe a cushion under the plywood panel area would level things out?Anyone else noticed this?

is the L shaped settee in the salon comfortable to sleep on?

Not my boat. :) Also seems not to be an issue for some of your skippers. Has anyone ever tried a level? Seriously...;)

My '83 was not set up to have the filler pad between the starboard settee and the main aft berth. Also, I don't see how anyone could sleep centerline in that berth anyway. So I built brackets and a plywood base that spans the well between the berths and the back cushion on the side fits right in. Now have a roughly king size aft berth like the newer models. I wonder why the boat wasn't set up like that anyway. Later models were. Had they just not thought of it?

A PO put a 2x4 support centerline under the plywood on my boat to keep it from sagging.

In our honeymoon years the admiral and I slept in the V Birth. Now, ten years later, she sleeps in the V Birth and I sleep in the Aft Birth. Only occasional do we use the large Center Birth.
