Service Light

I am in the process of rebuilding the electrical system in Wavelength.
I purchase a AC / DC panel and plan to use it with the original panel. For the most part it will be an easy swap of various sswitches and circuits. My question is, what is the "Service" Light for?

Time for your 100,000 mile service :p

If it's the light I'm thinking of, it's the DC Service light and it comes on whenever the battery switch selects either battery. Basically lets you know that the DC system is 'on'. On both my '88 C30 and my current boat, the light eventually burned out; I have an LED in it's place on my C36 (from Radio Shack).

More than likely well over the 100,000 :D
Since it was not on any diagram I could find I think that makes sense. One more thing to disconnect.

The only lamp I could find referred to in the wiring diagram would be the reverse polarity lamp (page 32). That would indicate white and black wires reversed. But I recall and rectangular blue covered lamp on my D/C panel (that doesn't come on) as well. Crap - another thing to check in the spring!
That list just keeps getting longer!

I think Gary's right. The "service" light is the little light that shows that "service" is on. Mine's burnt out too.
