My fridge, which on my 1994 MkI I believe to be original equipment, works well when its on, but seems to be cutting itself off. I'll turn it on when I arrive at the slip and pack food on board. It will run well and actually freeze items stored in the box, but then overnight seems to have just gone off. It happens all the time. The main coil and condenser is located back in the Port side cockpit locker. Sometimes when I open the hatch and jiggle it the compressor or other parts, I can hear it come on but later it just stops. Its a 12 volt system and the problem occurs on both shore power and when just out cruising, charging batteries with the engine. Any ideas? anyone else have the same isssue? Thanks for any help.

Sam, you have a loose electrical connection somewhere. Also check the fuse in the electronic module.
Only other thing I can think of that cuts off the fridge is if your house bank drops voltage over night, and the fridge will cut off.

Of course you are right. A loose wire. I found it, fixed it. All is well. It was a dumb post actually. I should have found it first.
