I have a 1993 model and wanting to relocate the engine thru hole from in side engine room to in between the two walls in the aft birth infront of out board water tank. Catalina does this with other boats so I know it can be done but just not sure where to cut hole. Tried to get pic on here of what exactly I'm talking about but can't figure that out either
And what is the best tool to cut new thru holes. Need one for engine and one for depth/speed.
Thanx, Spanki

A hole saw of the appropriate size should be all you need, since our boats are not cored down there.
I am not familiar enough with the Mk 2 to know exactly where you propose to put the hole. On my mark 1 if you put it in front of the outboard water tank I would be very concerned about the raw water pump sucking air when motorsailing with the wind on starboard. These intake thru-hulls are usually pretty close to centerline on most boats.

my aft birth is a full berth so the outer water tank is next to the center tank. Newer Catalinas then my '93 have them just forward of water tank. Can't get pic to up load to show.

I guess my curiosity is really piqued about your signature, Spanki. Care to explain? or not?
